The Eugenio Granell Foundation is a non-profit corporation and shall be operated exclusively for educational purposes within the meaning of Section 501 (c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code of 1986, or the corresponding section of any future Federal tax law.
The Eugenio Granell Foundation's purpose is to study, promote and diffuse the creative work of Eugenio Granell, a leading surrealist painter, Spanish born, but a naturalized USA citizen. Granell was a painter, writer, musician, film creator, photograher. He also made constructions, drawings, engravings and collages. Besides his own work, the Eugenio Granell Fundación in Spain houses an extensive collection of works by many surrealist artists. The Fundación also contains the artist's extensive library. Through important and dedicated books and the correspondence with well-known people of his time, the Granell Library is an important space for the research and study of the surrealist movement and the period in which Granell lived.
